The "Budo Karate Dojo", previously "Institut de Karate de Saint-Jean"
opened its doors for the first time in 1963. This Karate School is the
oldest Shotokan Karate School in Quebec and Canada. Its first
instructor was Sensei Ary Anastasiadis, the father of Shotokan Karate in
Canada. Sensei Michel Tremblay then took over the destiny of the
school at the end of it's first year and has been teaching and training
since.
Sensei Mario Ross met Sensei Michel Tremblay in 1972 and has trained
under him up to 1975. The two of them have always maintained contact
since. Sensei Mario Ross pays his very first Karate instructor a visit
each time he visits his home Province.
